Policy Board
StanCOG is governed by a decision-making body called the Policy Board. It is comprised of sixteen elected officials from StanCOG member agencies. This includes five representatives from the Stanislaus County Board of Supervisors, three representatives from the Modesto City Council, and one representative from each of the other eight City Councils in Stanislaus County. A California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) representative serves as an "ex-officio" member on the Policy Board.
Executive Committee
The Executive Committee is one of StanCOG's Standing Committees. The Committee is responsible for appointing members to Standing Committees, and for reviewing and making recommendations on special matters.
Management and Finance
The Management and Finance Committee is one of the StanCOG Standing Committees. This committee provides recommendations on matters that go before the Policy Board.
Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC)
The Citizens Advisory Committee is one of the StanCOG Standing Committees. This committee provides recommendations on matters that go before the Policy Board.
Social Services Transportation Advisory Council (SSTAC)
The Social Services Transportation Advisory Council (SSTAC) is one of the StanCOG Standing Committees. This committee, statutorily created in 1988 by Senate Bill (SB) 498, advises the Policy Board on transit issues. It annually reviews the transit needs in the region and makes a recommendation regarding unmet transit needs that are reasonable to meet. This information is utilized by the Policy Board in their annual unmet transit needs determination and finding.
Sustainable Communities Strategy (SCS) Steering Committee
The Sustainable Communities Strategy Steering Committee is one of the StanCOG Standing Committees. This committee was formed in 2011, to collaboratively address the requirements of Senate Bill 375 (SB 375), which calls on StanCOG to prepare a Sustainable Communities Strategy (SCS) as part of all future Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) updates. The SCS is intended as an integrated land use and transportation plan that sets a development pattern for the region, which when combined with transportation policies, will reduce Green House Gas (GHG) emissions from vehicles.
Bicycle/Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC)
The Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC) is one of the StanCOG Standing Committees. This committee, newly-created in 2009, advises the Policy Board on bicycle and pedestrian-related issues. It reviews transportation projects and recommends planning efforts that enhance non-motorized transportation opportunities in the Stanislaus region.
San Joaquin Valley Regional Policy Council
The San Joaquin Valley Regional Policy Council is a sixteen member board that consists of two elected officials from each of the eight Regional Transportation Planning Agencies in the San Joaquin Valley.
San Joaquin Valley Regional Planning Agencies Directors Committee
The San Joaquin Valley Regional Planning Agencies Directors Committee is comprised of the 8 Executive Directors of each of the MPOs/RTPAs in the San Joaquin Valley. |
